2nd Artist Announcement

Brian Setzer is an iconic guitarist, songwriter, vocalist and 3-time GRAMMY®-award-winner, is a “Musician’s Musician” credited with continually taking chances with innovative and daring musical styles, while single-handedly resurrecting two forgotten genres of music (rockabilly in the ‘80’s and swing in the ’90’s). Along the way, he has scored chart-topping hits, sold 13 million records and received the Orville H. Gibson Lifetime Achievement Award throughout his decorated career as founder/leader of the Stray Cats, his 18-piece Brian Setzer Orchestra, and as a solo artist. He is consistently cited as one of the world’s greatest living guitarists, and has a best-selling, extensive line of elite Gretsch signature model guitars bearing his name.

Setzer makes his triumphant return to Doheny Blues this year, and you don’t want to miss it!

Since his first appearance at Doheny Blues 11 years ago, Kenny Wayne Shepherd has sure been busy! The five-time GRAMMY® nominee, has sold millions of albums worldwide, won two Billboard Music Awards, as well as a pair of Orville H. Gibson awards, the Blues Foundation’s Keeping The Blues Alive Award and two Blues Music Awards. He has had six #1 blues albums and a string of #1 mainstream rock singles.

Shepherd’s last album “Going Home” was his sixth #1 debut album on the Billboard Blues charts. Special guests on this record include guitar icons Joe Walsh, Warren Hayes, Keb’ Mo’, Robert Randolph, longtime friend Ringo Starr and Fabulous Thunderbirds frontman Kim Wilson – so you don’t want to miss Shepherd’s set at Doheny Blues!

Preeminent slide guitarist Roy Rogers and his band the Delta Rhythm Kings have teamed up with former child prodigy and world renown violinist and harpist Carlos Reyes for this year’s festival.

Their ‘duo format’ presents their talents in a much more intimate musical setting. The subtlety of their interaction onstage focuses on the listener and the intensity and energy that stems from their performance together is what truly distinguishes them. The music they play knows ‘absolutely no boundaries’-covering styles and genres from blues to jazz and world-beat to classical.  This is truly a unique combination to be heard and seen.

The Record Company’s first full length album released in February of 2016, yet band has already played concert halls and festivals across North America, Europe and the UK, developing a reputation as a live act worthy of sharing the stage with such top attractions as B.B. King, Grace Potter, Trombone Shorty, Buddy Guy, Charles Bradley, Social Distortion, Blackberry Smoke amongst others.

Their raw and sincere sound is influenced by the rough honesty of their heroes, bluesmen like John Lee Hooker, early punk like the Stooges, and rock greats like the Rolling Stones.

Many more artists to be announced soon!
